Stakes, palisades, ditches, gates, watch towers and the crystal ward. What each costs, and what it puts on the map when a strike comes.

Fortify

Every site keeps its own defences: the home camp and each outpost. Exiles at camp build them with the Fortify order, and a piece's cost is paid when its work starts. When a power strikes a site, the defence mission is fought on that site's own ground with every piece built there standing on the map. The works sit round the position the squad has to hold.

What they do on the campaign

A palisade adds to the region's garrison against strikes, and at the home camp lets it take one more hit before it falls.
A crystal ward makes every strike on its site a force weaker.
A watch tower shows strikes on the site a week early.

When the camp is hit

A strike that hits the home camp knocks down one piece each time, in this order: stakes, gate, palisade and watch tower. Anything else stands.
